Nipah Virus Signs and Symptoms

Srikakulam: The Srikakulam district medical and health department has asked the people to take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Nipah virus.

 DHMO D S Tirupati Rao said that the virus spreads from fruit bats and flying foxes, a variety of bats. Consuming the fruits bitten by the bats could cause viral fever.

 He said fever, nausea, vomiting, headache and epileptic bouts are the common symptoms of this viral fevers. The pigs that eat these fruits too act as vectors. The DHMO asked the people to immediately report to the medical officials and get treated.
