No of Engineering seats increase in Telangana

Witnessing a rise in the number of engineering seats in Telangana, this year the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H) granted affiliation to 169 colleges with 84,124 seats available to candidates.

During the 2017-18 academic year, 81,186 seats were up for grabs.

EAMCET convenor Navin Mittal, convenor of Telangana engineering, agriculture, and medical common entrance test, released these revised figures on Sunday.

Including the 11 engineering colleges affiliated to Osmania University, with an intake of 6,260 seats, and four colleges affiliated to Kakatiya University with 1,800 seats, the total number of seats across all colleges in the state this year is 95,235.

Of these, 64,566 are set for the convenor quota and 30,669 for the management quota. The number of engineering seats in the state is slightly higher than the number of qualified candidates with 94,592 qualifying in the engineering stream this year.
