The summer season is drawing to a close. As per the Indian Meteorological Department, the monsoon rains are expected to cover Telangana around June 3.

The IMD stated that the increase of rainfall over interior Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu will lead to the conditions becoming favourable for further advance of the South West monsoon into some more parts of peninsular India around June 3.

The prediction of the monsoon released on Wednesday said that the rainfall this year is expected to be at 95 percent of the long period average (LPA) for the Indian peninsula for southern states.

The country is likely to witness a normal monsoon year with rainfall at 97 percent of the long period average.

According to the IMD, the monsoon conditions are favourable for further advance into some parts of North Eastern States in the next two days.

Meanwhile, Telangana continued to sizzle with temperatures of more than 40 degrees Celsius with Hyderabad registering 40.7 degrees Celsius, which as per IMD, was 2.1 degrees more than normal.

With 44.2 degrees, Adilabad remained the hottest place in Telangana and Mahabubnagar the lowest maximum of 40 degrees.
