Car-truck collision kills two, leaves two others critically injured in Suryapet

Two people were killed in a car-truck collision in Suryapet district in the early hours of Monday. The accident took place on National Highway 65 at Komurabanda village of Kodad Mandal. 

According to the police, the mishap occurred due to sheer negligence of the truck driver who stopped the vehicle owing to some problem and let it remain without any hazard warning. 

The car, heading from Hyderabad to Sidhantham village of Penugonda Mandal in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh collided with the stationary truck. The victims were identified as Arimelli Venkatanarayana, an Infosys employee, and his wife Arimelli Venkata Sowjanya. Two others sustained serious injuries in the accident - Gullapalli Venkata Madhavi and car driver Koramgoth Rajesh who were rushed to the hospital immediately.

The condition of car driver Rajesh is said to be serious.
