100 hospitalized due to contaminated water

Prakasam District: A woman died and over 100 persons, including several children were hospitalized with complaints of gastro enteritis in Pulipadu village of Mandlanur mandal of the district.

 Almost every home in the village appears to have someone or the other hospitalized. The authorities said contaminated water may have caused the health complications in the area. 

The locals alleged that the sanitation was very poor in the village and open drains are contaminating the water bodies. A special medical camp has been set up to treat the patients.
