Telangana man has a satirical take on drop in fuel prices, sends cheque to PM Modi

A man from Rajanna Sirsilla district of Telangana sent a cheque of 9 paise to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a sarcastic take over the recent drop in fuel prices.

The man, Chandu Goud handed over the cheque to district Collector Krishna Bhaskar during the Praja Vani programme. He requested the IAS officer to ensure that the check reached the Prime Minister's relief fund.

The Petrol prices were reduced by 9 paise in the state recently and the farmers have been facing the most impact as they prepare for their new crop. 

Owing to the high fuel prices, the farmers are facing difficulties to fill adequate diesel and petrol in their tractors and other agricultural equipment.

Telangana collects 35.2 percent VAT on petroleum products which also makes prices of petrol and diesel go high in the state.
