Telangana ACB raids house of top Sports official
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids at the residence of Sports Deputy Director Venkataramana at Ramanthapur. The ACB officials carried out the raids at five places in the city since Wednesday morning. The raids were conducted in connection with alleged irregularities in allotment of MBBS seats under sports quota with fake credentials.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had ordered an ACB inquiry on May 17 into allegations of medical seats allocated in the past under the sports quota with fake credentials.
The state government was informed that the sports quota was being misused to get MBBS seats following which the Chief Minister directed a comprehensive inquiry into it asserting that an action will be initiated against the ones involved.
