TS Government aims to provide water to irrigate in 17 districts through Kaleshwaram project

Central Water Commission (CWC) member YK Sharma visited Kaleshwaram project site and witnessed the works at Megigadda, Kannepally, Annaram, Ramagudu and other places on Saturday. 

Speaking in this regard, he said Kaleshwaram project, the Telangana government’s flagship programme is a composite of various irrigation projects and will achieve the desired results.

Stating that the ambitious project, taken up at a cost of 80,000 crore, is on track with the state government giving it top priority, the CWC member informed that the project was halfway through and will be completed within the time frame without cost overruns.

Through Kaleshwaram project, the state government aims to provide water to irrigate 37 lakh acres in 17 districts of Telangana.
