KCR's convoy number plates being misused in Hyderabad

 Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s convoy vehicle registration plates are being misused in the city. According to the Cyberabad police, seven e-challans were pending against the registration number TS 09 K 6666, the number plate for the CM’s convoy vehicles.

While police initially suspected someone from a travel agency was trying to avoid challans, they found later that eight challans were filed on the same number amounting to Rs 2,380 between August 11, 2014-June 19, 2015 were paid in 2015 at a Hyderabad E-seva centre. 

The active pending e-challans were mostly in Hyderabad at Banjara Hills, Chikkadpally, Narayanguda, Mehdipatnam and Panjagutta.

  • against a Nissan sedan on January 8 for overspeeding on ORR at Madhapur, against a Volvo SUV on April 27, for overspeeding in Gachibowli; and against a Fortuner on April 29, at Harshaguda for overspeeding.
  • 2017
  • against a Benz SUV on October 5 for overspeeding in Rajendranagar, against Fortuner vehicle on December 12 in Shamshabad for overspeeding
  • 2016
  • against a Toyota Fortuner on March 17 for overspeeding on PVNR Expressway.
  • 2015
  • against a Volkswagen sedan on July 24 at Bharat Nagar for wrong parking.

The Cyberabad traffic police are yet to identify the accused.
