In a pleasant gesture, Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday turned up at the house of freedom fighter Mitta Yadava Reddy to wish him on his 88th birthday. KTR, who was accompanied by Energy Minister Jagdish Reddy, Digital Media Director Konatham Dileep and Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan had received a tweet from Mr Reddy's granddaughter Nidhi Reddy last month.

She requested him to release the book penned by her grandfather, who is a freedom fighter and a retired Professor from Osmania University.

Interestingly, the Minister responded positively to her request and assured to release the book on June 17. Keeping his word, KTR personally extended his birthday wishes to Mr Reddy and launched his book 'My Memoirs’. He even felicitated the octogenarian with a shawl and presented him with a memento. Recollecting his fight in the Telangana armed struggle, Mr Reddy appreciated Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for the way he led the Telangana movement and now his leadership as the CM.

Mitta Yadav Reddy actively participated in the Indian freedom movement during 1945-47 and was jailed for fighting against the Nizam.
