Devineni flays statement of Kanna on Polavaram pending dues

Vijayawada:Minister for water resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao lashed out at the BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana for the latter’s statement that the Union government had released all grants for Polavaram project and so far not dues are pending. 

Addressing media conference at the state irrigation office here on Monday Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said the government had spent Rs.8662 crore and the Union government had released Rs.6728 crore and another Rs.1934 crore are due and the state government yet get these grants. 

Devineni Uma responded to the comments made by Kanna Lakshminarayana after visiting the Polavaram project on Sunday. Referring to allegations of corruption, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said the project works details available online and made it clear there was no corruption in execution of works.  

He ridiculed the statement made by Kanna Lakshminarayana that the BJP would complete the project after voted to power. He said leaders who change parties every six month should not give such statements.
