TS Govt plans MMTS extension to Yadadri
The construction of the multi-modal transport system (MMTS) is going to be rolled out soon on Ghatkesar-Saugiri (Yadadri) route. The second phase of MMTS is under construction in the twin cities, while the state government has decided to provide MMTS rail in Ghatkesar-Roagiri road as part of the Yadagiri Gunta development process. The Urban Development (MAUD) Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar granted permission to the Hyderabad Metro Rail Corporation (HMRL) with Rs 150 crore funding from the state government in the construction of the second phase of MMTS.
Under the second phase of the MMTS Railway project, Rs. 75 crore for the construction of railway project, Rs. 50 crore for MMTS projects in twin cities and Rs. 25 crores for the future requirements of MMTS projects are being sanctioned to Hyderabad Metro Rail. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd has demanded to release Rs 350 crore under state government in the construction of the multi-modal suburban rail transport system (MMSRTS) in the state.
The state government will take steps to connect the Metro connectivity to Hyderabad Metro Rail, RTC buses and MMTS trains to ensure travel connectivity to the last mile. The government is considering the possibilities of connecting metro rail stations, MMTS stations and bus stops. The responsibility was handed over to the Hyderabad Metro Rail Corporation. According to the sources, the HMRL has been sanctioned for the second phase of MMTS.
