KCR arrives in Vijayawada, accorded grand welcome
Grand arrangements have been made in Vijayawada, for the arrival of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who is visiting Goddess Kanaka Durga temple today, along with his family members.
The temple is the second popular shrine in Andhra Pradesh, after Tirumala. Standing atop Indrakeeladri hill range, adjoining River Krishna, the deity, is popularly known as Ammavaaru and is worshipped as a household Goddess in the form of Durga.
KCR, accompanied by a number of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders, including MLC Karne Prabhakar was accorded a grand welcome at the Gannavaram Airport by Ministers Devineni Uma Maheshwar Rao, Prathipati Pulla Rao and other officials.
TRS followers have put up flexis, banners and flags all along the roads that lead from Gannavaram Airport to the temple. KCR is expected to visit the temple and gift a nose ring to the deity.
