Secunderabad Railway Station to get a multilevel parking complex
The Railways have come up with a solution for the parking issues at the historic Sri Ganesh Temple and adjacent Secunderabad railway station.
15 guntas of open land has been allocated for the construction of a multilevel parking complex between the two crowded locations.
The temple and station premises would have a hassle-free environment with visitors parking their vehicles in the five-storey complex.
Recently, Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal visited the temple and the parking lot following which he assured to take necessary steps to hand over the land to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for the complex. Subsequently, the decision was made in this regard.
According to the reports, the Hyderabad Metro Rail is likely to take up the construction work, once GHMC gets the land. Also, the temple trust board is requesting GHMC to allocate two of the five-floor complex for the thousands of devotees visiting the temple every day.
The temple trust board members held a meeting on Thursday, passing a unanimous resolution requesting SCR to expedite the process of handing over the land to GHMC to start the work and also waive off Rs 15 lakh arrears for supplying drinking water.
