TS Eamcet Leak: Medical student from Karnataka arrested

A medical student from Karnataka was arrested by the Telangana Crime Investigation Department in regard to the leak of the 'TS EAMCET-II-2016' medical question papers.

According to the reports, Ganesh Prasad along with the other accused conducted a preparation camp with leaked EAMCET question paper at Cuttack where he took three students collecting Rs three lakh as commission from each student.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad conducted the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET-II) on July 9, 2016.

CID registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and other provisions of the AP Public Examinations (Prevention of Malpractices and Unfair means) Act-1997 on July 25, 2016.

So far, over 60 persons (brokers and sub-brokers) have been arrested and Rs 2.87  crore has been seized.

During the investigation, some students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, appearing for TS EAMCET-II-2016 (medical) examination were found to have attended camps set up in at least five cities and given practice with the leaked copies of question papers with correct answers.
