Former CM Kiran Kumar Reddy set to re-join Congress today
Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, is set to re-join Congress party on Friday in the presence of All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi.
He will be accompanied by AICC General Secretary Oommen Chandy and APCC President N Raghuveera Reddy during his meet with Rahul Gandhi today.
Kiran Kumar Reddy had quit the Congress party in 2014 in protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and played a key role in the Samaikyandhra Movement, led by the president of APNGOs Association P Ashok Babu which opposed the bifurcation during that period.
However, the AP Reorganisation Act 2014 was passed in the Parliament following which he quit the party and floated Jai Samaikyandhra party but he did not contest in 2014 elections.
