Special Status demand: YS Jagan calls for AP Bandh on July 24

Update: 2018-07-21 18:01 IST

YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday addressed a press meet in Kakinada where he called for the shutdown of Andhra Pradesh on July 24.

Expressing displeasure over the no-confidence motion held in Lok Sabha, YS Jagan said that the BJP-TDP ties are evident as the Union Home Minister himself validated it in his Parliament speech on Friday.

Stating that the time has come to exert pressure on the Centre to grant Special Category Status, he sought the support of all the political parties in Andhra Pradesh for the bandh on Tuesday.

The YSRCP Chief added that the shutdown was a mark of protest against the Centre's decision not to grant special status to AP.
