Kiran says BJP ignored AP's interests
Former chief minister Kiran Kunar Reddy said that only Congress can do justice to Andhra Pradesh. He said AP will get special status only when Rahul Gandhi becomes the prime minister.
He said that that both AP and Telangana were losing out because they are small states and said that had the state been united, it could have made more progress. He said that the PM was not focusing on AP and Telangana only because he has no stakes in both the states. In an interview to a TV Channel, he said he had opposed the bifurcation as he felt that it would harm the interests of both the states.
He said had he not fought, Polavaram project would not have got national status and the assurance for special status would not have been given. He said the governance in both the states is very bad and said that the people woullld teach both the governments a lesson. He said he was trying to bring in neutral leaders into the party. He added that he was in touch with four key leaders from Rayalaseema.
