RTC suffers Rs 6.5 crore loss in Tirumala
Tirupati: Due to the restrictions on the Darsanam of the Lord due to the Ashta Bandhana Balalaya Maha Samprokshanam, the pilgrim rush has considerably been affected in Tirumala.
Due to this, the RTC has suffered a loss of Rs 6.5 lakh on Monday. The RTC unions blamed the management for the lack of planning. On Friday, there were 1279 trips from Tirupati to Tirumala which ferried across 21976 persons Similarly, there were 1336 trips from Tirumala to ferry across 30399 persons. Which means there were a total of 2612 trips that ferried across just 52,375 as against the normal flow of 1, 17, 540 persons.
The RTC should have reduced the number of trips. They said that a bus from Veluru had just 18 passengers to Tirupati and during the return journey, there were only three passengers.
