Telangana’s future belongs to students: Kadiyam Srihari

As a part of Telangana Government’s Haritha Haram programme, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Saturday initiated the Green Brigade programme at the Gavicherla Model School.

He planted saplings in the school of Sangam Mandal in Warangal district. Subsequently, the girls were provided with health care kits. The event was attended by MLA Challa Dharma Reddy, Collector Haritha, Model School Director Satyanarayana Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion, Kadiyam Srihari said, “The government is providing quality education, nutritional food, hygiene and health care kits. The future of Telangana is in students' hands. Hence Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is providing the appropriate meals for the students to grow physically and mentally. The academic sector is strengthening to provide quality education. Now, the children are being provided health care kits. From the next academic year, students will be provided health care kits for the 5th and 6th grade. The students are encouraged to read and utilize the government's facilities.”

The Minister further said, “KCR brought up the Haritha Haram initiative with a great intention to provide good future for the coming generations. Even when there is a lack of rains, the environment must be good and the crops should be greener. At least 33% of forests should be in the state but unfortunately, there is not. There are forests in the suburbs of Godavari. The Chief Minister has taken the initiative to plant 230 crores of saplings in these five years to increase the forest area. So far, 81 crores of saplings have been planted.”

He further urged the public to guard these plants, further suggesting everyone to adopt one plant and take care of it.
