New zonal system gets prez nod

Hyderabad: New zonal system which was proposed by the Telangana government has been finally approved by the centre on Thursday. Aiming to provide better employment opportunities to the people, the state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao discussed the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to New Delhi. 

With the new zonal system, locals get 95 per cent of reservation and five per cent for open category in public employment and education.

Soon after getting the presidential nod to the new zonal system, the centre issued a notification approving the government's proposal of having new zones. The new zonal system will replace the old one in a day or two which was issued 43 years ago in united Andhra Pradesh. 

According to the notification issued by the centre, the new system will have seven zones which include Kaleshwaram (zone I), Basara (zone II), Rajanna (zone III) Bhadradri (zone IV), Yadadri (zone V), Charminar (zone VI) and Jogulamba (zone VI) and two multi-zones.

First four zones are considered as one multi-zone and the last three comes under another multi-zone.
