Hyderabad: AC buses see drop in occupancy after LB Nagar metro opening

Hyderabad: With the opening of the LB Nagar-Ameerpet metro line, the AC buses in the city are seeing a consistent decrease in the patronage.

It is a known fact that the TSRTC runs most of the AC buses between LB Nagar and Lingampally via Hi-tech city almost with the same fare as metro. 

There are also a few AC buses running via Ameerpet to Dilsukhnagar from Patancheru.

Ever since the inauguration of the metro, the commuters are preferring the metro train over the AC buses to avoid traffic. And the most interesting fact is that the AC bus prices have come down to Rs 6 to Rs 7 per km due to less occupancy.

After taking a thorough study, the authorities will ply the buses over non-metro routes where there is a demand for AC buses.

Meanwhile, the ordinary and metro buses have not been seen any impact with it.
