Thin Film Technology big scope for research, says experts
The thin film technology is an interdisciplinary area in which both engineering and applied sciences students can carry out research activities to develop solutions for current issues, said Dr.G.Mohan Rao, Professor, IISc, Bangalore. The professor highlighted that through applied research, recent technological changes across the globe can be understood.
Delivering a keynote address at a daylong workshop on Thin Films in Advanced Technological Applications, organising by Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology here on Friday, Mohan Rao said that the nanotechnology is emerging technology in which students would get abundant opportunities.
Dr.V.M.Rao, Rector, Vignan, explained the role of scientific research in the society. The noble prizes in sciences would be given to the scientists at the age of 70-80 as the committee sees that results of inventions and hypotheses for one or two decades after the introduction.
Dr.K.Yellaswerara Rao, convenor of the workshop, briefed the significance of thin film technology in making sensor batteries.
Dr.K.Madhusudan Rao, Dean, Dr.T.Satya Guru, Dr.R.Hanumantha Rao, Dr.M.Santhosh Kumar, Dr.Ravindra Kiran and Dr.B.Dhanalakshmi are the key speakers in the workshop.
Earlier, Dr.Mohan Rao inaugurated thin film lab in the Vigan College.
