HN Ananth Kumar had been battling lung cancer since May.
In the month of May HN Ananth Kumar had been diagnosed with lung cancer, the doctors who were treating him in Bengaluru during his last days said. He was taken to the Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation and Research Centre which is located in South Bengaluru over 25 days ago, and was undergoing chemotherapy and other related treatments. For the past few days, he has been in the ICU on ventilator support.
Dr B S Srinath said that “The cancer was at an advanced stage when he was brought to our hospital.” Before he was brought to the Shankara Hospital, he had visited the UK and US, where he was being treated for lung infections.
Even when he was undertaking treatment for cancer, Kumar had suffered from infections and his condition had been worsened due to lack of immunity. His close associates said that he had been suffering from acute cough since early 2018.
“He was diagnosed with cancer in May, and was under treatment at AIIMS, Delhi, by a family doctor. The family did not want to make it public because it could mean unwanted attention,” said the family associate.
