Apart from the state Congress president Sunil Jakhar, incharge of Punjab affairs Asha Kumari had also attended the meeting. Congress circles have been buzzing with the words of a possible reshuffle of portfolios with the non-performers being blocked out.

While talking to the media persons after the meeting, Jakhar said that the appointments for the heads of boards and corporations is to be made by the chief minister. He added that the appointment of the state president was the prerogative of the party president, but he did not confirm any move of him being replaced. Jakhar, meanwhile, confirmed that the leaders from Punjab will be taking out a  campaign in the adjoining areas of Rajasthan.

“Amarinder Singh has been meeting Rahul every month or so where he discusses the progress of various government schemes like the farm debt waiver. As the leadership is presently focusing on assembly polls in other states, a possible reshuffle could be on the cards. At the same time, the party wants to placate its Dalit leaders, who were upset at not being included in the state cabinet,” he added.
