Samvaad turns out to be a global conclave of tribals this year
JAMSHEDPUR: On Monday the 2018 edition of Samvaad, had witnessed some incredible performance on-stage at the Gopal Maidan on the last day.
There were two unique dances performed known as Dhimsa and Kinnauri which had electrified the stage with a chunk of the audience which gave them a standing ovation to the artistes for their mesmerizing show. Dhimsa is a unique traditional group folk dance which is done by the Pradhan tribe of Telangana and so the Kinnauri by the Kinnauri tribals from Himachal Pradesh.
Over 1600 delegates from over 25 other states and about a dozen countries had participated in the Samvaad, which has apparently made it a global conclave of the tribals this year.
The five-day event, had around 230 participants from several tribal communities which showcased their handicraft, they also put up stalls on the traditional healing techniques and had prepared unique recipes according to their respective tribes.
"We were witness to an unparalleled showcase of tribal art and craft and also met some outstanding practitioners in the field of tribal medicine. Besides, the experience of a rich musical and cultural heritage of the tribal India has left us overwhelming," said 47-year-old Dharm Oraon, a Steel City resident.
