Hawala money of Rs 97 L seized in Hyderabad, 2 held

  Two people were arrested by the city task force police late on Wednesday for illegally transferring Rs 97 lakh hawala money at RP Road.

Mohammaed Siddiq Ahmed who was into Hawala business transfers the money with the help of Munneer. Recently he came into contact with a realtor Faheem to transport the money. Faheem used to direct Ahmed over phone from where to collect cash and for whom to hand over it.

Acting on a tip-off, the police caught Ahmed red-handed while collecting money from a person called Rajesh at SP Road. Ahmed was to deliver the money to a party waiting at RP Road. 

The police seized the cash and also recovered a bike from them.

According to the police, the hawala business is being made with developing contacts with all the hawala operators across the country and are used to communicate through Whatsapp by a secret code of serial numbers embedded on the currency notes.
