Hyderabad: BJP MP and national spokesperson  G V L Narasimha Rao said the grand alliance of different parties in Telangana is a grand drama, and it is a replay of what all the parties had enacted in Karnataka.

Addressing media here on Monday, Narasimha Rao appealing to the people of the State to see real faces of the parties in the grand alliance and TRS before choosing their government in the forthcoming State Assembly elections. He said that the only common thread connecting all these parties is that they are neck deep corruption. "Their sole aim is to weaken the BJP so that their own kind of politics will continue," he added.

He said that Congress and TDP have joined hands to once again cheat people of Andhra Pradesh on the issue of special status to Andhra Pradesh. In 2013, a committee headed by the then Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan on the issue of granting special status to the states in the country. It was following the recommendations of the Raghuram Rajan committee the then UPA government at the Centre headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had decided as a policy not to grant to special status to any state.

It was for this reason that the then UPA government did not include the special status to Andhra Pradesh, as part of the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Bill in 2014. "Had they included it in the APRA, it could have facilitated the NDA government to extend the same to AP," he said.
