Lorry rams into ambulance in Chittoor, 2 killed

Two people died on the spot while three others sustained injuries after a lorry rammed into an ambulance in early hours today at Srikalahasti.

The mishap occurred at Isukagunta village when the ambulance heading to Srikalahasti collided with the lorry coming from opposite direction. The injured were shifted to a hospital in Srikalahasti and the deceased to the area hospital for post-mortem.

The police launched a probe and are trying a nab the lorry driver who went absconding. They also said that the accident seemed to have occurred due to smog.
