Bilateral trade between India and China reaches $89.6 billion
NEW DELHI: This week the Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meeting on the sidelines of a G20 meeting, the officials said that aims on building a thaw in ties after the Doklam standoff last year.
And also later this year, their two armies will be holding a joint exercise for the purpose of building trust after their 73-day face-off that took place at Doklam which had stoked the fears of war within them.
Vijay Gokhale the Indian foreign secretary had told the reporters that, "It was decided that they would take the opportunity whenever and wherever they could meet. They could discuss issues on either leader's mind or issues of mutual concern.”
The two leaders of the world's fastest growing economies are expected to endorse efforts to liberalise their trade in Buenos Aires, the Indian officials have said. China had decided to export apples and dairy products to india. Whereas, India is hoping to export skimmed milk products and buffalo meat.
Their bilateral trade has reached $89.6 billion in 2017/18 with a deficit of $62.9 billion in China's favour.
