KCR left Telangana debt-ridden: Rahul Gandhi

Update: 2018-11-28 19:39 IST

AICC chief Rahul Gandhi took potshots at caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao saying that the state was left debt-ridden by the TRS which began the government with a surplus budget of Rs 17,000 crore. TRS has left a per capita debt of Rs 60,000 on each citizen of the state.

Criticising the CM KCR, Rahul said that he enhanced the project cost of Kaleshwaram by Rs 40,000 crore on the pretext of redesigning it. "KCR also failed to deliver the promises made to the youth of providing jobs to them," said the AICC chief. Of the 22 lakh promised double-bedroom houses to people, he managed to complete 5000 houses in the last four and a half years.

Rahul also said that Telangana administration was in the hands of KCR's family but the Congress will ensure decentralisation of power with people reaping benefits. "TRS wants Modi to come to power by defeating Congress and the party proved it several times by backing BJP in Lok Sabha," Rahul said.

Terming it as Telangana Rashtra Sanghparivar, Rahul questioned TRS as to why it did not criticize the Modi government on Rafale deal or land acquisition bill.  Congress will defeat BJP in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh while TRS in Telangana, said Rahul adding that the party will also see the defeat of BJP-led NDA in parliament elections.
