Congress appoints former cricketer Azharuddin as TPCC working president
Former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin has been appointed as Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president. An official was made by the Congress party on Friday along with the appointments of the TPCC vice presidents BM Vinod Kumar and Jaffer Javed.
Azharuddin contested from Congress party in 2009 and 2014 Lok Sabha polls. He won as MP from Moradabad parliament constituency in Uttar Pradesh in 2009. While he got defeated in 2014 elections when contested from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan.
On the other hand, the Congress party is likely to field Azharuddin from Secunderabad parliament constituency in the Lok Sabha polls in 2019.
