Revanth Reddy arrested by police in Kondangal ahead of KCR meeting

Police arrested TPCC Working President and Kodangal People's Front contesting candidate A Revanth Reddy in the early morning hours on Tuesday. Police reached his house and broke the doors and after arresting him shifted to Shamshabad Police station. They have also arrested Revanth's brother Kondal Reddy and 10 other supporters of him.

Police officials said the arrest was done on the orders of the Election officials. Since Revanth given a call to the party workers to conduct protest rallies and Kodangal bandh earlier in view of TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao's campaigning in Kodangal today, the arrests were done.

As the news spread Congress party workers and his supporters were reaching there in large numbers to control the situation police imposed 144 section and deployed additional forces in Kodangal and Kosgi to meet any untoward incidents. Tension still continuing there and police officials vacating the media persons from Kodangal.

Reacting on his arrest, Revanth's wife Geetha condemned the arrests and alleged the police arrests as unconstitutional. Police under the pressure of TRS were doing this and harassing them. She gave a call to the party workers and Revanth's supporters to maintain restraint and teach a lesson to them by electing Revanth Reddy from Kodangal.
