Bengaluru: Porn-addicted husband accuses wife of infidelity
BENGALURU: A 37-year-old man, apparently addicted to watching porn, hauled his pregnant wife to the Bengaluru city police commissionerate recently to prove that she filmed in a clip he had seen online. The man denied to accept the cybercrime wing’s confirmation that it wasn’t his wife and denied to take psychiatric assistance, prompting the woman to leave him.
Lakshmi, 31, who was subjected to mental and physical torture, headed back to her hometown in Andhra Pradesh. She is four months pregnant with her second child. A delivery person with an e-commerce portal and resident of east Bengaluru, Venkatesh married Lakshmi six years ago. They have a child.Sources with Vanitha Sahayavani (women’s helpline) at the commissionerate said the man was hunched to porn and suspicious of his wife. “He came across the porn clip last month.
Suspecting his wife was the woman who featured in the video as both had similar moles on their bodies, the man started assaulting her. Determined to prove himself right that his wife had sex with the man on the video, he took her to the HAL police station,” said a senior counsellor.
HAL police sent the couple to Vanitha Sahayavani on Infantry Road for counselling. “He was hell-bent on proving that it was his wife in the video. So, we sought the help of the cybercrime wing which examined the video and ascertained that it wasn’t her. They also informed the man that the clip was posted from outside India,” the counsellor added.
However, Venkatesh remained determined and wanted to hunt the man in the video. Counsellors said extreme suspicion on his partner’s fidelity and constant consumption of porn drove the man to draw parallels between the porn actress and his wife. “He needed urgent psychological treatment and we suggested he visit Nimhans. But he was furious that police and counsellors failed to examine his wife and instead termed him unstable,” they said.
