People's Front will win 75-85 seats: Uttam

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed confidence that the Congress-led People's Front would win 75-85 seats in the Telangana Assembly elections for which polling was held on Friday.
 
He was addressing a press conference along with Telangana TDP President L. Ramana, TJS leader Vidhyadhar Reddy, CPI State Secretary Chada Venkatreddy, MRPS chief Manda Krishna Madiga and others at a star hotel here on Saturday.
 
Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the Election Commission of India has failed to conduct elections in fair and transparent manner and therefore, Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar should apologise to the people of Telangana. He said there were lot of mistakes in the voters' slips. He said all representations made to the ECI proved futile.
 
The TPCC President asked the party workers to be alert as EVMs could be tampered with. He said EVMs have been kept at places with no adequate security. He said members of all political parties should be allowed to check the security of EVMs and the polling agents of political parties should be made counting agents while shifting the EVMs from strong rooms to counting centres.
 
Uttam Kumar Reddy ridiculed the claims being made by caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekahr Rao and his son K. Tarakarama Rao of winning 80 seats. He said earlier KTR had earlier claimed of TRS winning 100 seats. He said that the TRS would not win more than 35 seats.
 
The TPCC Chief also revealed that today he got a call from India Today Editor Rajdeep Sardesai expressing doubts over the Exit Poll conducted by his own channel. He said Rajdeep had asked him not to trust the Exit Poll results as he felt that there was a strong contest between the TRS and People's Front.
 
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the alliance between Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI had emerged as the true voice of people of Telangana it successfully highlighted the issues concerning common people.
 
Telangana TDP President Ramana said that the People's Front would form the next government and it would implement the Common Agenda which would be monitored by a committee to be headed by Prof. M. Kodandaram. He said people have voted against the TRS which pursued anti-democratic policies.
