Telangana assembly elections 2018: 67 per cent polling recorded

 Barring the attack on Congress candidate Ch Vamsichand Reddy, the elections in Telangana across 119 constituencies ended peacefully with a voter turnout of 67 per cent.

Though the figures of the voter turnout are yet to be declared by the election officials, the Chief Electoral Officer Rajath Kumar said that around 67 per cent polling percentage has been recorded. "The percentage will remain same even after the release of the final figures," said Rajath Kumar.

The EC speculated that the poll percentage might meet 80 percent as the voter turnout till 1 pm was 47 per cent. But the count came down from the noon recording less poll percentage.

However, the Narsampet constituency topped with 84 per cent polling followed by Alair with 83 per cent. Adilabad witnessed 76.5 per cent  and Warangal (rural) registered 76 per cent. Coming to Hyderabad, it seen a approximate voter turnout of 50 per cent.
