Even as the Assembly elections are just six months away, Andhra Pradesh State government has introduced new scheme naming it as Jaladhara aiming to provide potable drinking water to every household.
Government is estimating the cost of scheme will be around Rs 22,500 crore.
The drinking water supply scheme will be on the lines of Mission Bhagiratha implemented by Telangana government. Opposition parties alleged that in a bid to lure the voters, AP government brought the new scheme before the assembly elections.
