Collector inspected dried up ground nut cropss

Kadapa: District Collector CH.Harikiran has urged the farmers who irrigated Ground nut , Jowar in current Rabi season  in the district to pay the premium under Prime Minister Phasal Bheema Yojana as they would get insurance of their damaged crops. He said last date for ground nut crop is 15th,  Jowar for 31st December. He said premiums should be paid at mee seva centers.  

He inspected dried up Ground nut, and Jowar crops along with government whip P.Ramasubba Reddy in Gundla kunta village of Peddamudium mandal on Thuraday. He interacted with a  tenant farmer called Pedda Subbaiah in the village about how many acres he irrigated ground nut and  how much  invested for Ground nut crop per acre.

The farmers replied that he had grown ground nut crop in 3 acres of land by investing Rs 20,000 on each acre. Following severe dry spell conditions he incurred huge crop losses in the current Rabi season.

Agricutlure joint director J.Murali Krishna narrated the collector farmers have irrigated ground nut in 1240 acres, Jowar in 940 acres in Gundlakunta village. Later collector has inspected village park which is under construction at Uppalapadu village in Jammalamadugu mandal. Peddamudium Tahasildar Venkata Subbanna and others were present.
