Hyderabad:Sudden rain breaks its 100-year-old record

  The unexpected rainfall occurred on Thursday evening broke its 100-year-old by registering 46.6 mm of rainfall in less than 24 hours. On December 1, 1918, the rain in Hyderabad created a record with 44.5 mm of rainfall in a day. 

The rainfall which continued on Friday morning trumped its 100-year-old in the same month. 

Areas like Medchal-Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, Rangareddy witnessed heavy rainfall and the average rainfall registered at 87.8 mm. Due to the sudden rainfall, the temperature in Hyderabad slumped by 5-6 per cent.

The city is likely to witness heavy showers in the next 24 hours.
