BELAGAVI: A fresh brew of trouble approaches, as a handful of the senior party legislators are looking forward at the removal of the chief minister Siddaramaiah from the posts of the Congress legislature party (CLP) leader and also as the chairman of the coordination committee.

Other than the issues that have been discussed at a meeting which was held in Belagavi and was attended by the senior Congress legislators including R Ramalinga Reddy, R Roshan Baig, MTB Nagaraj and HM Revanna, once a confidant of Siddaramaiah, among others.

One major issue which was the reason for the delay in holding up the CLP meeting, was because Siddaramaiah left for Malaysia to attend a wedding. The CLP meeting has now been scheduled on December 18.

“Who does he think he is? The man does what he wants and asks us to follow his lead like schoolchildren. Like him, several of us are also four, five, six and even seven-time MLAs,” struck one MLA

To bolster their demand, the MLAs have taken a decision to approach Mallikarjun M Kharge, who is the Congress leader in the Lok Sabha. “Currently, Kharge is in Chattisgarh helping with post-victory decisions. Once he is free, we will approach him to get the high command to accede to change,” said another MLA.

The elevation of K Prathap Chandra Shetty as the chairman of the legislative council is said to be construed as a bang to Siddaramaiah, who has batted for the former minister SR Patil. The group of MLAs are opting for one of them to be appointed as the head of the CLP and it's coordination panel.
