Death of Navy sailor 25 years ago to be investigated by CBI

 HYDERABAD: On Monday the high court of Hyderabad had ordered a CBI probe into the mysterious death of an Indian Navy sailor 25 years ago at the Kakinada coast. The agitating mother of the officer had made it clear that technical objections and replies will not pacify her, and she needs answers about the circumstances which have caused the death of her son. Amar, a seaman-1, who was posted at the Eastern Naval Command at that time.

The bench which pronounced the order included the Chief Justice T B Radhakrishnan and Justice S V Bhatt. The order was declared after hearing the argument of Anuradha Ashok Paldhe, who wanted the investigation into the death of her son Amar Ashok Paldhe to be entrusted to CBI.

She was unhappy with the manner of investigation that was being done by the Kakinada Port police and was doubtful about the internal probe of the Navy by a Board of Inquiry (BoI). The two agencies had no answers as to why the sailor had died. All the Navy said was that it was was an accident.
