Defence Minister reprimands Congress for misleading people on Rafale jet pricing
Mumbai: Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of BJP party attacked the opposition Congress for spreading false accusations of corruption in the Rafale deal . Congress repeatedly criticised the deal for 36 Rafale Jets alleging that the government procured each aircraft for Rs.1670 crore against Rs.526 finalised by the UPA government.
The Defense Minister alleged that Congress is intentionally misleading people over the pricing of Rafale jets . She rebuked Gandhi Family's audacity to file a petition for inspection into the deal over false corruption charges. The Supreme court bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan said there is no case to doubt the decision making process dismissing all petitions seeking an investigation into the irregularities in the deal declaring there was no substantial evidence of commercial favouritism to any private company.
The government has denied presence of irregularities in the deal.
