Passengers stranded as heavy rains hit coastal districts in the wake of Cyclone Phethai

Hyderabad: As Cyclone Phethai lashed through the Coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh , more than 50 train services under South Central Railway were affected by heavy rains. Many of these services link Telangana with other parts of country via the neighbouring state Andhra Pradesh.

Cancelled Trains include Bhimavaram-Nidadavolu passenger , Vijayawada-Narsapur passenger, Gudivada-Machilipatnam passenger , and Guntur-Vijayawada DEMU passengers trains. Railway authorities decided to reschedule and reshuffle routes stranding people in stations for three to four hours and discouraging new reservations.
 
Hyderabad Bound East coast Express was diverted to Kharagpur , Tatanagar , Jharsuguda and Bilaspur leaving many passengers unable to reach their destinations in Visakhapatnam and other adjacent areas.
