Senior Congress leader Jalagam Kondal Rao passes away
KHAMMAM: On Tuesday Jalagam Kondal Rao, the senior Congress leader and former MP from Khammam who was 90-years-old had passed away at his residence in Hyderabad. He was the younger brother of the former Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, late Jalagam Vengala Rao and the uncle of former legislators J Venkat Rao and J Prasada Rao of TRS.
He had served as Vemsoor (Now Sathupally Assembly constituency) MLA in 1957 and was elected as the Lok sabha member twice from Khammam, in 1977 and 1980.
Kondal Rao was born at Bayyanagudem in the district of Khammam on the 10th of December, 1928. He studied in Hyderabad at Nizam College and Osmania University.
He was the member of the Parliament Committee on Private Members’ Bills and Resolutions during 1977-79 and he had also served as the Chairman, for the Khammam Zilla Parishad, during the years 1964-70.
