Researchers protest for hike in stipend
Bengaluru: Researchers from premier institutions in Bengaluru formed a human chain at the Indian institute of science(IISc) Friday, demanding a hike in their stipend.
Scholars assembled in front of the main building and formed a chain from the main gate of Janata Bazar. This is a part of nationwide protests by research scholars; in Delhi, it is being held in front of the HRD Ministry’s office.
500 IISc research scholars on December 13 sent postcards to PM Narendra Modi, urging him to look into their demands. Students from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Raman Research Institute, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced and other Premier Institutions Scholars are expected to be a part of human change.
