Bangalore civil court sentences 5 men with life imprisonment
BENGALURU: On Friday the city civil court had sentenced life imprisonment to five men and has also handed over two minor boys to the juvenile justice home after it had found them guilty of hacking a 29-year-old man to death on the 16th of November, 2009.
The five men who were convicted are Tejas Kumar, Girish, Rajesh, Lakshman Gowda and Kumar alias Bandli, all are belonging to the age group of their late 20s and residing at JC Nagar, Kurubarahalli. The court had also imposed a fine of 25,000.
The police had registered the chargesheet by accusing the suspects of hacking Sandeep Kumar to death outside a bar near JC Nagar. “Sandeep and prime convict Tejas were rivals. On the pretext of hosting a cultural event, Tejas would demand money from Sandeep and the latter would refuse. They had frequent fights,” said the police.
