Chandrababu To contest From North Coastal Andhra?
With the assembly elections are approaching fast in Andhra Pradesh, political circles and a section of media are busy speculating the names of the contestants from the important Assembly constituencies. It is learnt that TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu is planning to field his son and IT minister Nara Lokesh from Kuppam assembly segment and he will fight either from one of the assembly constituencies from North Coastal Andhra or in Amaravati region.
Chandrababu already initiated exercise to finalise the candidates from the TDP. Several sitting MLAs are unlikely to get party tickets in the next elections as their performance is below the average in the intelligence survey conducted recently.
The selection of candidates in Rayalaseema region has become a big daunting task for the TDP Chief. It will be known whether to field a former minister from Chittoor district only after consulting the leader's family members. The fate of TDP Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh to contest from Kadapa district is also still hanging in the balance.
