Four dead, three hospitalized due to food poisoning

Bengaluru: On Friday, Four members of a family died from food poisoning while three others have been hospitalized after having dinner at their home in Chitradurga district. The victims including three children, aged 12 to 13, had consumed Ragi balls and lablab beans sambar last night followed by complaints of stomach pain and vomiting when they were rushed to the government hospital, said the police.

Police have seized the food sample and sent it to the forensic lab for tests.

This incident comes days after 15 died of poisoning in a village after eating ‘prasad’ at a temple in Chamarajanagar district.
