Farmers poured their woes before YS Jagan

Srikakulam: Farmers of Pathapatnam and Palasa assembly segments poured their woes before YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. As part of his Prajasankalpa Yatra he covered several villages in two assembly segments on Saturday. On the occasion farmers of Ramachandrapuram village in Meliaputti mandal explained that they are yet to provide pattas on the lands on which they are depending and cultivating crops. 

Land losers of Dasupuram village in the same mandal also complained to YS Jagan that they lost their lands for Off-shore irrigation project but compensation not yet paid. The farmers said that they got the lands under the rights on forest lands during YS Rajasekhara Reddy regime and since then they have been cultivating the lands but present government denied compensation to them. Responding to it Jagan assured to settle the issues after assuming power. In Pathapatnam segment local people also complained to YS Jagan over sand mafia and its high handedness on villagers when they tried to prevent it. 

Temporary staff working in tribal welfare schools also explained their problems and meager salaries. They demanded job security and service regularization. Tribal unions’ joint action committee members also met YS Jagan and demanded an Act by reserving jobs in tribal welfare departments only to local tribes. Local tribes also met YS Jagan and complained that they are yet to aware on government welfare schemes aimed for them and not getting any benefits from the government.
