Safety is the first priority of Indian Railways: Rly Board Chairman

Hyderabad: Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav categorically stated that safety is the first priority of Indian Railways and all steps will be taken to address the this area of immense importance.
 
He was addressing a video conference from Rail Bhavan, New Delhi today which was attended by General Managers of all the Zones and Production Units & Divisional Railway Managers of all the Divisions on Indian Railways.
 
Spelling out his plans, the Chairman Railway Board wanted the works on redevelopment of railway stations be completed at the earliest, delivery shall be speeded up with regard to projects targeted for completion and electrification works should be undertaken as scheduled. Giving focus to passenger centric issues, he laid stress on enhancing standards of passenger amenities, catering and cleanliness on Indian Railways.
 
With Indian Railways going strong in strengthening Infrastructure, Vinod Kumar Yadav exuded confidence that all infra development works including new rail lines, doubling of rail lines, traffic facility works such as yard remodelling, additional lines at railway stations, crossings etc., will be commissioned as per the targets. Towards this, he sought a concrete plan of action to be undertaken by all the Zones, according highest priority.
 
On South Central Railway, all the Principal Heads of Departments were present at the Headquarters while the Divisional Railway Managers of all the six Divisions on the Zone, took part in the video conference from their respective Divisional Headquarters at Vijayawada, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded.
